This is my M9.
I ❤️ this camera.
In October 2010, I made the decision to buy a Leica camera.
It was not an easy decision. Always I was intimidated and fascinated, at the same time, by the name: LEICA.
After weeks watching YouTube reviews, reading and comparing cameras specs and prices, I placed the online order and I purchased a Leica M9, including a Summicron M 1:2/35 ASPH.
When I received a email from the store with the shipping confirmation, immediately I felt guilty because I charged too much my credit card. At the same time I was so excited to get my first Leica.
Few days later I received a UPS delivery. I opened the box with the same anxiety when we open a Christmas presents that we don’t expect.
I got the camera in my hands.
Few minutes, and I became addicted.
I admire the craftsmanship of Leica’s products. I can instantly feel the construction of the camera as I hold it in my hands. I love that feeling and its clean simple look. I get inspired.
Everywhere on the web, I read critical comments about Leica cameras: too expensive, elite stuff, is not worth, many cheaper cameras do better, and so on and on. The M9 is loud, bulky, heavy, expensive, the screen is horrible, etc. etc., but do you know what? The Kodak CCD 18MP sensor of this camera delivers unbeatable images. Period.
To hold a M9 and shoot one photo is to instantly understand what makes this camera attractive. Nothing technical, it’s a touch feeling.
